Gay Couple Legally Marries In Texas — Via Skype

Latest

Gay marriage is illegal in Texas, but Thomas Mark Reed and Dante Karl circumvented the law by flying to Washington, D.C. for a license. Back in their home state, they were married by an officiant who Skyped into the ceremony.

They posted this video of their ceremony on YouTube:

The couple told the Dallas Voice that though D.C. has no law against “e-marriage,” the validity of their wedding could be challenged in court. They’re currently working with lawyers and legislators where gay marriage is legal to draft statutes that would make e-marriage easier for other same-sex couples. “It’s just important to do anything we can to find creative ways around inequality,” says Reed.
