Game of Thrones Is Giving Its Most Boring Plot Line the Season Off

Season 5 of Game of Thrones might be less of a slog than seasons past. One of its snooziest plot lines has been put on hold for at least one year.

When asked what he was doing touring Australia as DJ rather than filming GoT in the Northern Hemisphere, actor Kristian Nairn (Hodor!) confirmed that he and Bran and the old mountain Treebeard that they found at the end of season four will not appear at all in Game of Thrones‘ fifth season.

“We’re not actually in Season Five, by the way. We have a season off. We have a year’s hiatus,” he told Monique Schafter of the Australian Broadcasting Corporation.

Hodor (Hodor!) then added, “Solely because, I imagine, our storyline is up to the end of the books…So I get a year off now to do Rave of Thrones [editor’s note: !!!] and gallivant all over the world.”

As much as everyone loves Hodor (Hodor!), we can probably manage without him for a single season. Now, if only they also got rid of Stannis. And Jon Snow. WAIT — Is Game of Thrones actually boring?
