Here’s a first look at Gwyneth Paltrow‘s Coach campaign. Peter Lindbergh shot the actress in Manhattan, but the ads are only set to run in Asia and Europe, which is how this news comes to us from Vogue Taiwan. [Vogue, via Fashionologie]

Soulja Boy has released an album called The Bernard Arnault EP, for Louis Vuitton Moët Hennessy chief and very rich Frenchman Bernard Arnault. There’s even a track called “Louis Vuitton.” On two other songs, however, Women’s Wear Daily reports that Boy calls Arnault “Robert Arnault.” That can mean only one thing: Women’s Wear Daily made its reporter listen to the whole thing. We could barely make it through a song. [WWD]
You can download Bernard Arnault here. Sample lyrics: “Louis, Louis, all she keeps saying is Louis Vuitton, Louis Vuitton, Louis Vuitton, Louis Vuitton. Soldier, swagger, Louis. I came out the water, LV shades on, swagging cross the border.” Later, Boy switches in “all she keeps screaming” for “all she keeps saying.” [DatPiff]

Hermès chief — and the target of a would-be hostile takeover from Arnault, who secretly acquired a 20% stake in the company — Pierre-Alexis Dumas says Hermès can’t become an LVMH brand because it would lose its soul: “You know, there have been a lot of very good, small restaurants in Paris that have been bought by big chains over the years, usually in the name of better management. But somehow their clients have stopped going, because they have lost their souls.” [W]
Hermès reported sales rose by 17.9% in the second quarter, compared with the same period in 2010. The company has raised its full-year revenue projections accordingly, from 8-10% to 12-14%. [WWD]

Fila launched its line of toe shoes in February, 2011. [WWD]

I mean, that’s not what I look like.” [WWD]
  • Phoebe Philo: “I do think that the world doesn’t need many more frivolous bits and bobs that end up left in cupboards or landfills.” Philo, the creative director of Céline, insists on working regular, reasonable hours so that she can maintain a family life. “I think that’s a discipline I’ve taught myself. Mazelis told Women’s Wear Daily “I haven’t made a final decision yet,” but it sounds like Max Azria is ready to see her go. A spokeswoman said, “We wish Marie all the best in her endeavors.” [WWD]

If you don’t feel guilty at all, you don’t love him anymore. If you feel guilty then it’s love and don’t worry he’ll never know you did it.” This approach was recommended by an Italian who “has an official lover in Barcelona, another in Paris, and another in rehab.” [Garance Doré]
