WARNING: RANT LEVELS RISING; RISING;

OVERFLOWING!

I don't care what anybody says, I love the turban! "Beside (my)self with glee" is the best way to describe my general mood when they started turning up on the runway last Spring. And almost immediately the trend was quashed by nay-sayers who said that turbans looked funny, could not translate from the runway to the street, etc.

I will say that that the timing of this trend's revival was off. Spring just isn't the season to be wearing things over your hair. Summer, even less so...

But for fall/winter, a subtle, no fuss turban or headscarf, a la Marelene Deitrich, a la Girl with a Pearl Earring, in black or gray or jewel tones, and in non-reflective fabrics such as cotton or silk (But never satin, Miuccia Prada! Satin screams stage costume, no matter its application!)...c'est absolutement divine, dahlink!

And an excellent solution to the ubiquitous bad hair day problem.
