Latest

While famed Irish novelist and poet James Joyce is best known for authoring works like Ulysses and Dubliners, his creativity actually expanded well beyond his public oeuvre and into his private life, as made evident by the series of poetic love letters he wrote to his wife Nora Barnacle. Joyce truly loved Nora (the date they first got together is an important part of Ulysses). He also — as he wrote time and time again —truly loved her butthole.

Just in time for Valentine’s Day, Funny or Die has released a video featuring Martin Starr (Freaks and Geeks, Party Down, Adventureland) reciting the very real, very dirty love letters that Joyce once wrote to the love of his life.

If you’re at work, I suggest you put on headphones. If you’re at home with a special someone (your cat or a burrito), I suggest the two of you cuddle up on the couch and let the words of one of the world’s finest writers sweep you off your feet. Be still our hearts — you’re about to learn just how much Joyce liked it when his wife farted in his face.
