Female Athletes Try To Dress Up For Pre-Wimbledon Party

BeautyStyle

Last night, female tennis players and British celebs gathered in London to celebrate the WTA Tour Pre-Wimbledon Party while wearing some questionable outfits.

American tennis player Bethanie Mattek-Sands was literally ballsy in her gown choice.

It’s can be easy to pick the athletes out of the bunch at events like this. It’s not that they’re less feminine, it’s just that fashion isn’t necessarily their biggest concern (understandably so). For instance, Canadian tennis star Rebecca Marino and Romanian tennis star Monica Niculescu both look like uncomfortable high school freshman going to a date dance. Thank goodness Serena Williams represents America a little better, sartorially speaking.

It’s interesting that these goth-y three—X Factor contestant Katie Waissel, model Tail Lennox, and Kings of Leon’s Jared Followill—attended such a sporto party because they seem like the types to dodge the volley ball in gym class. (Meaning, they’re my kind of people.)

Maria Sharapova’s dress was very tennis-skirt length, which is fine, considering the event.

Speaking of short skirts, one wrong move and Eliza Doolittle will totally expose her Professor Higgins to everyone. Athletes Ana Ivanović and Andrea Petković look modest in comparison.

Check out the shoulder pads on former Pussycat Doll Kimberley Wyatt. Naomie Harris looks cute in metallic and it’s very nice to see socialite Hofit Golan in something other than Jovani Couture.

Of the three women trying to pull off the little black dress look, I think that Caroline Wozniacki (left) beat out Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova and Patsy Kensit.

Yeah, I don’t know about this. Wearing that pantyhose material on her chest just makes it look like Shingai Shoniwa’s tits are about to rob a 7-11.
