Fellow Americans: Kate Moss is screwing you over. Big time. You see, her clothes for Topshop are not exactly selling at their UK retail price. Yeah, yeah the dollar sucks against the pound right now and that's totally not Kate's problem. But that's not it. Barneys New York, the New York-based department store (and the only place you can buy Kate's threads stateside) is marking everything waaaay up. Some items will be double the UK price as converted into dollars. Maybe there's coke sewed into the lining? There's a lesson here: Don't buy things from models. [Daily Mail]
I lived in London for a bit and I don't understand what the big deal is about TopShop. It's a wee bit better quality wise than H&M - it's really not that big of a deal. I have a few items from there and there are a few things that I like from the Kate Moss Collection but I would never go to Barneys and spend like 200 USD on something that is actually only worth around 40 GBP or 80 USD. TopShop is not a luxury brand ladies and don't let Barneys fool you into thinking so.
Just as an FYI - you can order from TopShop.co.uk and they deliver to the US and the shipping isn't that expensive and it still comes out to less than buying a particular TopShop look from Barneys. (especially if you order with a couple of friends/coworkers and split the shipping....)
