Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them Trailer Will Help You Miss Harry Potter Slightly Less

Here’s your first taste of footage from Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, the Harry Potter prequel that follows Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne), expert on magical animals and monsters (and writer of textbooks assigned to Hogwarts students), on his mishap-stricken adventure through New York City’s underground magic world.

Fantastic Beasts might not be the prequel the world wants (what we want, J.K. Rowling, is a six-plus book Marauder series), but it’s the prequel we deserve and luckily, it looks pretty dang magical. Less lucky: It doesn’t come out until November 2016. That’s almost a full year to brush up on Scamander’s extensive research.
