NewsPolitics

Is this the luckiest woman in the United States?

Here’s all the shit we couldn’t cover today:

  • First Hope Hicks, now H.R. McMaster. [MSNBC]
  • The White House, however, said that they “frequently face rumor and innuendo about senior administration officials. There are no personnel announcements at this time.” So maybe McMaster is staying, but maybe not. [The Hill]
  • After jetting around the country in first class, EPA head Scott Pruitt will now sit with the unwashed, hectoring masses in coach. [Washington Post]
  • Speaking of pampered Trump’s Cabinet members, Steve Mnuchin “revoked his consent” for UCLA to release a video of a recent speech, during which he was heckled by students. [New York Times]
  • And one more: Ben Carson returned his $31,561 dining room set. [Talking Points Memo]
  • Donald Trump announced new tariffs on steel and aluminum imports. [Politico]
  • NRA members described Donald Trump’s confusing and contradictory plans for gun control a “betrayal,” and “the stupidest fucking thing I’ve ever heard in my life.” [The Guardian]
  • Apparently, Melania Trump has an “Einstein visa.” No one is really sure how or why Melania was granted that particular green card, reserved for “renowned academic researchers, multinational business executives or those in other fields, such as Olympic athletes and Oscar-winning actors, who demonstrated ‘sustained national and international acclaim.’” [Washington Post]
  • The Republican-led House Intelligence Committee leaked texts between Senator Mark Warner and a lawyer to Fox News. The texts were part of the ongoing probe into Russian interference into the presidential election. [New York Times]
  • Two Texas anti-abortion groups are fighting because one group is too radical. [Slate]
