Egypt's tourism minister says for prospective visitors not to fret about political unrest. ""Bikinis are welcome in Egypt and booze is still being served!" proclaims Hisham Zaazou.
Correction: bikinis are welcome at the enclosed tourist sites at the Red Sea. But seriously, my experience has been that Egypt is pretty safe. The truth is, political unrest is mostly confined to specific locations. Just don't go to Tahrir and you'll be fine. And the prices are very cheap—there are almost seven Egyptian pounds in a US dollar these days. So everybody should come to Egypt!
