They were created by designer Jessica Jones of How About Orange, and they look so good that it almost seems a shame to crack ‘em open and eat them. True, they might be a little high-minded for kids, but maybe this is the way you've been looking for to indoctrinate your children into a life of design snobbery at an early age.

I'm curious - do painted eggs dominate the egg-giving tradition in North America? In Australia, where I live, the dominant tradition is focused on giving chocolate eggs and chocolate eggs are also used in egg hunts. People with a continental European background paint real eggs but the predominant focus in this country is chocolate, chocolate, chocolate. Oh, and hot cross buns.

Do you eat hot cross buns in North America? The supermarkets put hot cross buns on the shelves in January. Ugh, commercialisation. It is a true test of willpower to resist them until March/April...
