Dominique Strauss-Kahn Has to Borrow Wife's Money to Settle Assault Lawsuit

IRL Pepe Le Pew Dominique Strauss-Kahn and the hotel employee who accused the former IMF chief of assaulting her back in 2011 have settled the case’s remaining civil suit out of court, which means that this may be the last we hear of one of the most squick-worthy men of the last century. Good riddance for bad rubbish, that’s what I say.

Strauss-Kahn was accused of sexually assaulting hotel custodial employee Nafissatou Diallo in May 2011. At the time, the IMF head was poised to run for President of France, an office many analysts believed he would win. But Strauss-Kahn’s penis intervened, and the ensuing investigation and criminal charges led to his political and professional ruin.

Criminal charges on the case were dropped a few weeks after the incident because the Manhattan District Attorney theorized that Diallo would not be seen as a non-liar on the witness stand (after all, she was poor and illiterate and African. Plus, a woman!). As the scandal unfolded, however, more charges against Strauss-Kahn surfaced, including similar cases of sexual assault and unrefuted accounts that Strauss Kahn engaged in creepy orgies with prostitutes and other influential men, all revelations that made Diallo seem more credible and the Manhattan District Attorney seem more awful. If it looks like a creep and walks like a creep and dates like Charlie Sheen, it’s probably a creep.

The Daily Beast reports that the confidential-but-kinda-leaked settlement gives Diallo around $6 million, half of which Strauss-Kahn will borrow from a bank and half of which he will borrow from his wife, American journalist and heiress Anne Sinclair. Bet that makes him feel pretty manly, borrowing money from his wife to pay his pervert bill.
