Things got really heated on The View today during a discussion of the N-word. The gals were talking about that tape on which Jesse Jackson can be heard uttering the racist insult, even though he was one of the main proponents of banning it. Anyway, Elisabeth Hasselbeck was trying to tell Sherri and Whoopi that they shouldn't be using the word at all, no matter the context, because of children. Then she started crying. Then Barbara Walters made a funny face. How can people not love this show!?

I totally agree. Especially when you couple it with the original quote we saw from Jackson saying that Obama was being "condescending" to black people.
I don't think that what Jackson said was called for, but it was pretty clear to me that his comments came out of anger or frustration he has towards Barack Obama and was not some kind of "ghetto" or rapper style use of the "n" word they were making it out to be on all the news stations. I'm so sick of these soundbite based programmes. There is no depth and no real discussion whatsoever.
