Dead People Should Be Allowed To Retire

Latest

You may have heard that George Lucas wants to do something very, very creepy: “buy the rights to dead actors.” For the purposes of making them perform from beyond the grave. As we know, this is a bad idea.

Said the Sun (via Gizmodo) “George has been buying up the film rights to dead actors in the hope of using computer trickery to put them all together, so you’d have Orson Welles and Barbara Stanwyck alongside today’s stars.” While we’re pro Barbara Stanwyck in almost any incarnation, we object to A) sticking her with the caliber of modern material readily available — I mean, what do they want to put her in, All About Steve 2? The Thorn Birds was indignity enough!— and B) we’ve seen this:

Sometimes the dead need to be allowed to rest in peace.
