Comment Of The Day: Your Luxe, Hoity-Toity Abortion Should Be Against The Law

Yesterday, California representative Jackie Speier told the world about her abortion while Michele Bachmann spoke about "fancy abortion centers." Reader Ruby_de_la_Booby provided a summary of the events:

Jackie Speier spoke with such awesome dignity with some righteous anger thrown in. She rocks.

Michele Bachman proposed the "Non-Fancy Abortion Amendment" today. All clinics must use harsh fluorescent lighting, offer ripped pleather couches for seating, play Kenny G over the speakers, and be stocked with Reader's Digest magazines from the year 1989. (Edit comment)

As you've probably noticed, we're changing the Comment of the Day format a bit. From now on we'll only be highlighting one comment per day, so that user can claim all the bragging rights. We'd still like you to submit nominations to the Comment of the Day tag page. Just send the outstanding comment's URL and tag your nomination #cotd. (Replying to a comment with "#cotd" does not work.)

Use #trollpatrol to report comments that you feel the editors/mods should be aware of. Try not to respond to/approve/promote trollish comments in the threads — instead, just post the comment on the #trollpatrol page, the same way you'd post a comment on #groupthink or on the #cotd page, and the editors/mods will take care of it.

Congratulations, Ms. De la Booby! Have a uterus cake! Kenny G will be here shortly to serenade you with the smooth sounds of cut-rate institutionalized abortion.
