Illustration for article titled Comment of the Day: Wont You Please Help John Edwards Run for President?

As the crazy details of John Edwards' affair with Rielle Hunter come out during his trial, ZoetheBitch sees an opportunity to capitalize on all the attention he's getting:

Dear Jezebel,

Having been involved in advocating for the less fortunate my entire life, I have long worked for positive change in our society. My family and I now feel that the time has come for me to seek a higher elected office. I want to bring fresh ideas to the American people by running for President of the United States.

In order to serve the people, I must run an aggressive campaign. My opponents are saving money by not hiding their mistresses in large, rent-free lodgings in expensive neighborhoods. Our team needs to raise its game immediately.

I am turning to the people who know me best and inviting them to get involved in my campaign and help make a difference.

Your early contribution, made payable to "John Edwards for President" will give our race a tremendous boost. Your gift of $25, $50, $100, $250 or the price of a Gulfstream-V from Chapel Hill to my current location will help me raise the initial funds needed to launch this campaign.

Our goal is to raise enough money for me to continue bonking my mistress in luxury oceanfront hotels in Santa Barbara and elsewhere. I ask for your support in this great challenge.

Thanks in advance for your encouragement and support.

John Edwards
