Comment of the Day: How Many Arrows Can Fit in a Quiver?

Illustration for article titled Comment of the Day: How Many Arrows Can Fit in a Quiver?

Gil and Kelly Bates are the evangelical procreators who are giving the Duggars a run for their money in enlarging their brood. Commenter NewYorkGirl, however, would like to remind the super-fecund pair to read their OT a little more carefully:

Doesn't a quiver hold like 5 arrows? What happened to taking the Bible literally?

This is brilliant. And also the only time we see a really large family in the Bible, the older siblings all gang up to sell one of the younger ones into slavery anyway, so... not ideal.

Of course, out of the very first two kids, we also get the first murderer, so the Bible is clearly also saying that children are horrible and should be avoided,

Or sacrificed to one's God on command, driven into the desert to die in a fit of jealousy, or sold into slavery so that you'll have something to fall back on when famine hits.
