Today we learned Ofcom, Britain’s TV regulator, has its metaphorical panties in bunch over Rihanna’s “S&M” video. jigglyball responds:

Once upon a time, there was a fair maiden named Madonna, and this fair maiden used the ye olde musical video to share with us her feelings on sex and bondage and gender roles. This was in the magical land of the early 1990s, and though the overlords gnashed their teeth and clutched their pearls and bellowed for the children, lo the world did not perish, and the youth did not revolt, and we live to see the dawn of a new day of musical videos.
