Get pumped folks. Colin Farrell has officially confirmed that he will star in the sophomore season of the hit True Detective!

According to Irish newspaper The Sunday World, the plot will feature three police officials from three different cities investigating the "bloody murder of a corrupt city businessman found dead on the night before a major transportation deal." So yeah, definitely not as dark as the Yellow King, but still pretty exciting. Farrell told the paper:

"I'm so excited...I know it will be eight episodes and take around four or five months to shoot. I know very little about it, but we're shooting in the environs of Los Angeles which is great. It means I get to stay at home and see the kids."

Wahoo. I wonder who the other two detectives will be. Taylor Kitsch? Elizabeth Moss? Give us Michael Pitt!

I said this on Twitter. I like Collin Farrell because I think he'll sleep with anyone and there is something endearing about someone that democratic. As someone who like McConaughey long before he came back into favor, I hope the doubters give him a chance. He's a good actor and I think that he'll be a good asset to this series.
