Burberry Prorsum: For the Ethereal, Perpetually Naked Executive in You

New York Fashion Week is over. Now London Fashion Week is underway. Today, Christopher Bailey presented his beauteous spring 2014 collection for Burberry Prorsum.

After the show, Bailey stated that the point of the collection was to celebrate strong women: it’s is a mix of sleek and oversized silhouettes, most of which evoke corporate power women (pencil skirts! trench coats! oversized shoulders!). In an interesting twist, most everything is pastel, lacy and extremely see-through.

The result is very Midsummer Night’s [Erotic] Dream meets Devil Wears Prada — an unconventional mix high on sensuality and femininity. Because nothing says “woman power” like casually visible underwear and/or a bejeweled latex cape.
