Beverly Hills Housewives Outsource Child-Rearing, Childbirth

Latest

On last night’s premiere of RHOBH, we learned that Camille Grammer—soon-to-be Kelsey Grammer’s ex-wife—lives on a 17-acre estate and has four nannies for her two children who were born via surrogacy, which made pregnancy “a lot easier.”

Camille feels that the people have had the wrong impression of her, something which she hopes to change through her participation with this reality show. And she’s right, in a way. Previously, I’ve thought of her as a sympathetic figure: the strong, silent type who has been a rock of support for her husband and his addiction issues, only to be slapped in the face—after 14 years together—with a divorce, followed by the news that he’d impregnated a 28-year-old woman (which Camille learned about through a tabloid). Now, however, she comes off as someone with a ton of money and few responsibilities. (Aside from picking out “gay” shirts for her husband.)

Her story line should prove to be interesting, though, as it will apparently document the unraveling of her marriage.

Also on the show are two of Paris Hilton’s aunts, who had both been famous in their own right, having been child actresses with Disney contracts. Kim seems to have been affected a bit by “child star” syndrome, and admitted that it’s the reason why she doesn’t have many friends. She seems high-strung and a little bit off.

The obvious standout is Lisa VanderPump, who is like the living embodiment of a Jackie Collins character, except that she’s not that into sex:

My husband calls me a sex object. He says every time he wants sex I object. I say to him, you know what, Christmas and birthdays. And it’s your birthday, not mine. That’s another day off.

She’s funny and over-the-top, but really, the best thing about her is that she named her daughter Pandora. Pandora VanderPump.
