New York Fashion Week is upon us; it's off to an auspicious start with BCBG Max Azria's eye-catching, geometric fall/winter line.
Before the show, Azria noted that being one of the first designers on the runway takes "a lot of guts." He added, "We always do something that other people are not doing. It's all about length and geometrics and colors." True enough — the line features a lot of maxi skirts, interspersed with asymmetric hems and menswear-inspired shirts in bright colors not very typical of the fall/winter season. Interestingly, it features both streamlined, modern geometric patterns and oversized shearling coats and furs.
