Batman's Movie-Sidekick Robin Is Finally a Woman (Maybe)

Filming for 2016’s mega-mega-blockbuster Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice is motoring right along, preparing to destroy villains and box offices the world over. Ben Affleck is cast as the controversial Batman, of course, and Henry Cavill will reprise his role as a detrimentally uncontroversial Superman. Now, thanks to a gossipy extra (who risked a $5 million fine) and a telltale Instagram, we might know who’s playing Robin, too: Jena freakin’ Malone, everybody.

The production is currently shooting on campus at Michigan State University, and an enterprising local news station, WILX News 10, sourced a brave extra on the shoot who was willing to come forward and share details, so long as the station hilariously pitch-shifted his voice and filmed only the nervous wringing of his hands as though he were some kind of undercover narc. (Watch that here.) In addition to some kinda boring info that wasn’t worth $5 milli, WILX’s anchor says that he “has learned” that Jena Malone is filming Robin. He doesn’t cite the source, so it’s unclear how he’s learned that, exactly but he does site a recent Jena Malone Instagram, in which she showed off a new Robin-red dyejob, with the caption “Drastic times call for drastic measures,” a movie-tagline of an Insta caption if there ever was one. One commenter: “You have all the nerds speculating!”

Actually confirmed for this hot new Zack Snyder flick coming to ROCK your world: Gal Godot as Wonder Woman, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, and fine-ass fineman Jason Momoa aka fine-ass Khal Drogo aka Lisa Bonet is the luckiest woman in the world cause this is her boo, as Aquaman. Do you know what the latter part means? WET JASON MOMOA. Can’t wait for this shit. Props to Jena Malone, get yours, girl.
