Badgley Mischka has always been known for its awards season-friendly glamour, with plenty of intricate beadwork and ultra-feminine appeal. For spring 2014, the designs were a little heavy on the frills and weirdly, the formalwear line included crop tops.

“They’ve all got a sweater over them, so they’re not too vulgar,” designer James Mischka told USA Today of the brand’s departure into “younger” territory. Apparently it’s not vulgar for a woman to wear a sheer top with no bra though?
