@pantsless: Oh no doubt, I agree with all of this. Not saying it's easy...it's never easy to shake an abuser. I'm just saying I don't think the fact that these are text messages (as opposed to, say, constant phone calls or voicemails) adds much new dimension to the problem. Read more

Undoubtedly text messaging provides abusers with a whole new avenue of contact and the ability to make that contact nearly-constant, which I imagine would make their victims feel as though they're under constant seige (hell, I feel like I'm under constant seige from the people I want to hear from).
