Attention, America: Aretha Franklin has a new album coming out. It is called Aretha Franklin Sings the Great Diva Classics (of course) and it will include covers of both Adele and Destiny's Child. And hard on the heels of Bette Midler's album of girl-group covers, no less!

Among the tracks: a cover of Adele's "Rolling in the Deep," which has already been released via YouTube. Now, I would never, ever in a million years criticize the one true Queen, but something about the recording sounds a little... computerized? However, I do enjoy the part where she basically says "Fuck it, I'm Aretha Goddamn Franklin" and segues into "Ain't No Mountain High Enough." BOW DOWN.

Also included: a mashup of Gloria Gaynor's "I Will Survive" and Destiny's Child's "I'm A Survivor," which is obviously perfection. The full track list is here; she also throws in "Midnight Train to Georgia," Barbra Streisand's "People" and, uh, "Nothing Compares 2 U." Merry Christmas! Happy birthday! Treat yourself!
