Arizona Voters Wisely Choose Guy Who Didn't Pose With Gun in Campaign Ads for Gabrielle Giffords' Seat

Last night, after an uncomfortably close special election, the former district director to former Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords won the special election for her House seat.

Giffords initially took office after a contentious and hard fought campaign against Republican Jesse Kelly, a 30-year-old ex Marine who was pictured holding a gun in ads for a SuperPAC that supported him (especially classy considering that the he lost to a woman who was later shot in the head and was, at the time, running against a guy who was also shot in the same attack which also involved a damn gun).

Ron Barber, the former aide-turned-Congressman, will have to begin immediately campaigning for reelection, as his special term is up this year.

The picture above of Mr. Kelly holding a weapon appears to be while he is with the military. I'm not sure how you can snark on that. In fact, I'm going to say that it is incredibly poor form to snark on someone for performing their military duties.

It isn't as if he's standing over a warthog that he just slaughtered with an automatic weapon in the middle of some downtown suburb.
