Ambushed Fashionistas Tell Us How Much Their Shoes Cost

Latest

During Fashion Week, we’ve been milling around the tents, going to off-site shows, Fashion’s Night Out events and sneaking backstage to find out how much people—designers, stylists, editors, celebrities, Real Housewives—pay for their shoes.

Interestingly, the shoes at Lincoln Center—where fashion bigwigs like Elle editors Anne Slowey and Joe Zee were walking around—seemed to be the cheapest, either being gifts from designers, or obtained at a cut-rate price. During Fashion’s Night Out, at events like designer Thom Browne’s in-store party, people like Nate Berkus were similarly thrifty. But the farther we ventured from the tents—like the Sachika show at Elle Magazine’s Style360 (featuring a stable of reality stars like Alex McCord, Caroline Manzo, Angelea from ANTM, as well as Ice-T’s wife Coco modeling the line)—people paid top dollar for their footwear. Except for Ice-T, who informed us that his patent-leather sneakers were stolen. The most expensive pair belonged to Reverend Run’s daughter Vanessa Simmons, who was wearing $2,000 Chanel boots.
