Alabama Football Star Kenyan Drake Thinks Women Can't Follow Football

Latest

Oof. I warn you, this one is a doozy. University of Alabama running back Kenyan Drake took to Twitter today and for some reason posted this hot mess of nonsense about women and sports. It really will make your brain hurt, so fair warning.

Oh GOD. Roll Tide, indeed. But wait—what in the holy hell does this tweet even mean? Because I am a woman, I can understand the inner-workings of
basketball easier than football? What the what now? For fuck’s sake. I
understand football just fine, dude. My vagina doesn’t get up in the
middle of a game and go “I HAZ A CONFUZED. PLEAZ TAKE ME SOMEWHERE AND
EXPLAIN THIS MIND-BOGGLING HAND EGG GAME TEH MENZ ARE PLAYING.” No. That
is stupid. Just fucking stupid.

And you know why it is especially stupid? Because roughly 45 percent of the NFL’s fanbase ARE WOMEN,
GODDAMMIT. We don’t have trouble following the game, OK, Kenyan? What
we have trouble following is the logic of a college student who thinks
he can paint all women with the same sexist brush because LOL LADIES
DON’T UNDERSTAND THE TWO MINUTE WARNING AND SHIT. (And in case you are wondering, yes this is some nonsense for which he was summarily called out on, btw.)

Meh. You know what? To wash this unpleasantness out of our collective memory, why don’t we peruse Deadspin’s legendary “Sad Alabama Fans” gallery from earlier this year. And here’s a gif of Benedict Cumberbatch and Tom Hardy laughing at this whole thing, because why not.
