Over the weekend, Nebraska Senator Deb Fischer was one of the Republicans who withdrew her endorsement of Donald Trump after a 2005 tape in which the candidate describes grabbing and kissing women without their consent surfaced.
Fischer joined nearly every female Republican Senator (Joni Ernst was the lone holdout) when, on Saturday, she said on Twitter that she would not vote for Trump but instead vote for Governor Mike Pence. She called Trump’s words, “totally unacceptable under any circumstance.” But by Tuesday, Fischer had changed her mind. According to Politico, Fischer told a local Nebraska radio station that she had never actually withdrawn her endorsement.
Politico reports:
“I plan to vote for Mr. Trump and Mr. Pence on November 8,” she said on Nebraska’s KLIN. “I put out a statement … with regard to Mr. Trump’s comments. I felt they were disgusting. I felt they were unacceptable and I never said I was not voting for our Republican ticket.”

In the interview, Fischer explains that because Trump won’t drop out of the race, there’s no purpose in not voting for him. She indicated that despite the actual candidate who, she clarified, probably said something very offensive, she will continue to support the Republican ticket. Sounds like solid reasoning.
