After a predictably huge amount of public outrage, the Missouri House is dropping the idea of proposing a dress code for interns to cut down on all the sexual harassment by lawmakers. St. Louis Public Radio reports that House Speaker Todd Richardson nixed the idea, saying that although several Republican lawmakers proposed the idea, it wasn’t an official proposal and it was definitely never going to happen. This is what happens when people grow up having been taught nothing about gender issues like this or rape culture. It takes public backlash and outrage to arrive at the incredibly obvious conclusion that telling female interns to cover up has no bearing on sexual harassment by their bosses.
