Chelsea Handler's contract with the E! channel is up at the end of the year and the late night lady has decided to part ways with the network. It's not exactly a secret that Handler has not been happy with E! having told Howard Stern that E! is "a sad, sad place to live…They don't know what they're doing. They have no ideas. It's a failure." Her manager Irving Azoff stated:
Chelsea intends to leave when her contract expires. She hired me to figure out her life after E! We have at least seven suitors and many ideas.
"Seven suitors and many ideas?" That in itself sounds like the name of the new single-camera in-your-face and raunchy fairy tale-inspired show, starring the bawdy Chelsea Handler. Meanwhile, E! would like to remind everyone that there's still nine months left on Handler's contract while submitting a 'No Comment' stance on the future of Chelsea Lately.
Handler is supposed to be making around $9 million per year as the only woman on late-night talk television, so who knows where she'll go from here. Maybe radio, maybe Hulu or Netflix? WHO WILL TAKE HER?!
