Adrianne Wadewitz, an important and rare figure in the world of Wikipedia editors and a scholar of 18th-century British literature, died earlier this month from head injuries sustained during a rock climbing fall. According to Sue Gardner, executive director of the Wikimedia Foundation, Wadewitz – who worked on the Wikipedia pages for Jane Austen and Mary Wollstonecraft – "may have been our single biggest contributor on these topics — female authors, women's history." Gardner told the New York Times Wadewitz's death at the age of 37 "a huge loss" for the site.
