Abbi Jacobson, Tavi Gevinson, and Michael Cera Will Star in a New Movie Together

Broad City’s Abbi Jacobson, Tavi Gevinson, and Michael Cera will star in an adaptation of Human People. Variety reports that the ensemble drama is about “a variety of New York characters navigating personal relationships and unexpected problems over the course of one day.” It’s also proof that Gevinson, founder of the Rookie, will soon corner the entire universe and establish herself as the overlord of cool.

The movie, which is currently filming in New York, is directed by Dustin Guy Defa. The director has had indie success with his shorts which have appeared at both Sundance and SXSW. Human People will be his second full-length film.

As Variety points out, this isn’t Cera and Gevinson’s first collaboration. The two appeared in a stage revival of Kenneth Lonergan’s This Is Our Youth last year. Though it was Gevinson’s first foray into acting, her performance was well received.

At any rate, a collaboration between Jacobson and Gevinson sounds delightful.
