A Spencer Tracy/Katharine Hepburn Biopic Is Headed to the Big Screen

Latest

Fans of the Spencer Tracy/Katharine Hepburn romance should get ready — the story of the pair’s iconic love will likely be coming to a movie theater near you in the next couple years. Written by screenwriter David Rambo, the newly announced Tracy and Hepburn will follow the couple over the course of their entire relationship.

Deadline reports:

The film starts when Tracy and Hepburn meet for the first time at MGM studios before making Woman Of The Year, and tracks their complicated relationship to Tracy’s death that came days after shooting his last scene in Guess Who’s Coming To Dinner
Over 27 years, Tracy and Hepburn starred in nine films together, one of Hollywood’s most successful on-screen couples. They were madly in love off screen, and though he never divorced his wife Louise Tracy, he and Hepburn’s love affair was an open secret in Hollywood. Hepburn remained committed to Tracy until his death in 1967, but their relationship suffered from Tracy’s struggles with alcoholism and Catholic guilt.

Until his death in ’67? Uhhhh, spoiler alert much?

So far, no actors or directors are attached to the project. At the risk of overestimating my own star power, I would like to throw my hat in the ring for the part of Katharine. Ask any of my friends and colleagues and they’ll tell you that I go out of my way to talk like her ALL THE TIME…and that they hate me for it.
