A reader tip points us to the forums on Something Awful, where they're debating whether the Dolce & Gabbana ad, at left, is actually offensive to women. It was banned in Spain for seeming to promote gang rape, but it appeared in US magazines like Esquire. One commenter writes, "I think people need to stop being so sensitive. It's an ad, get over it." Another says,"The D&G ad proves that it can be empowering to submit as well as dominate. It was just a trick, feminists! Ha!" Yet another person chimes in, "I think the men in the ad are mad that the woman interrupted their gay orgy, and the one on top of the woman is saying, 'GET OUT OF OUR GAY ORGY!'" [Something Awful]
I agree with the last statement. She's raising her hips as if to say "Aww, c'mon, can't I join in?" while the stern guy in sunglasses says "Didn't you see the sign on the clubhouse door? 'NO GURLZ ALOWD.'"
Honestly, everyone in the ad looks a bit too bored to attempt or resist gang rape.
