Wal-Mart is replacing the Olsens' tween makeup line with one called GeoGirl, which has an "environmental" theme and is aimed at girls ages 8-12. Tweens spend—or get their parents to spend—around $24 million on cosmetics per year.

Ok, I'm not going to lie. I've always loved makeup. I remember being 4 and playing around with my grandma's jewelry and makeup and asking her if she would share those things with me when I was older.
I don't discourage playing around with makeup at a young age. I really do think makeup can be a form of expression, as it is for me. What I do discourage is how parents and even the media let young girls think that makeup is the norm and that to be beautiful, you need to accentuate your face with makeup. Which is why I'm iffy about the fact that there are "tween" makeup lines out there.
