A Gay Version of Hart to Hart Is a Reboot That Actually Sounds Cool

Latest

Well look at what we’ve got here, a reboot that actually sounds interesting: NBC is planning to remake 1980s mystery series Hart to Hart, but with a gay couple! The original show, which aired from 1979 to 1984, starred Robert Wagner and Stefanie Powers as Jonathan and Jennifer Hart, a glamorous couple who traveled the world while solving crimes.

In the modern update, attorney Jonathan Hart and his partner, Dan Hartman, will be doing the same sort of thing—solving crimes while juggling their new domesticated life. According to Deadline, the series will be written by Christopher Fife, whose previous work include Revenge, Private Practice and my personal favorite show, Caroline in the City.

Hopefully there will also be a new version of Max, their loyal butler, whose raspy voice could be heard introducing the couple in the opening credits. Information has not yet been released on who will play the sleuthing couple, but I instantly imagined Zachary Quinto as Jonathan Hart.
