Although the palette was limited — mostly oxblood, red, black, white and camel — there were quite a few prints on the runway at the fall/winter Burberry Prorsum show today in London. Animal prints, heart prints, grommets lined up just so. And textures! From croc and patent to fur and felted wool. The strongest pieces were the coats: Eye-catching and modern, they were also sharply tailored and classically constructed. Wearable. One or two spy trench-inspired coats could make a lady instantly look like a million bucks. A nice contrast to the slinky-stretchy gowns, a couple of which looked (gasp) cheap. Don't get me wrong, I'll take it all, especially the low wedge heels. Gimme.
