These two late night yahoos are still at it, after all these years. I find it kind-of comforting that these longtime frenemies are yapping about the same shit they were doing in my childhood. The apocalypse may come and go, but you can still set your watch by these two old dudes fighting about who's the king of late night TV. It's TV, you guys! It's worse than buskers arguing over a street corner or two kids fighting over who's king of a trash heap.
Anyway, Letterman sat down with Oprah (another frenemy!) to discuss his relationship with Leno:
I think he's the funniest guy I've ever know... the smartest... wonderful observationalist... therefore, the fact that he's also the most insecure person I've ever know, I could never reconcile that.
I get the feeling that Letterman is being extremely honest in the only way he knows how, which includes insults. Oh well, soon they will be dead and we'll get to hear Conan and Fallon, or whoever, reliving this same fight. Tradition!
The full interview airs on the Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN!) on Jan 6.
