Senator Ron Johnson Sure Hopes Tammy Baldwin Can Understand Math

Latest

Senator-elect Tammy Baldwin was among the most progressive members of the US House of Representatives during her tenure as a Wisconsin Congresswoman. Wisconsin’s senior Senator Ron Johnson is a Tea Party idiot. But so far, everything is hunky dory! Baldwin is confident that the two can work together in Washington, and Johnson also believes the two can work together… if Tammy Baldwin — who graduated from Smith College with a double major in mathematics and government — can learn how to understand numbers.

Johnson, who in the past has tried to cut funding for Planned Parenthood and then urged women who can’t afford birth control to “Google it” (first result of the Google search query he recommended? Planned Parenthood. Whoopsie-daisy!), is a numbers expert, you see. He knows how much things cost and how things work. From the AP,

“Hopefully I can sit down and lay out for her my best understanding of the federal budget because they’re simply the facts,” he said. “Hopefully she’ll agree with what the facts are and work toward common sense solutions.”

Senator Ron Johnson is 100% correct: numbers are SUPER HARD, especially if you have a vagina (the last time I tried to do math, I fainted from the exertion). But he’s not accurate in assuming that lesbians need math explained to them. Since lesbians are just like men without upper body strength, they’re fine at math. Also, Tammy Baldwin was a math major in college. Ron Johnson is a former accountant who dropped out of a night MBA program.

FINGERS CROSSED RON JOHNSON CAN EXPLAIN FACTS ABOUT NUMBERS AND GOVERNMENT TO TAMMY BALDWIN.

But he wasn’t done expelling hot air.

Johnson attributed Obama’s win on the heels of those Republican gains in Wisconsin to an uninformed electorate who voted in this election but not in the Walker recall.
“If you aren’t properly informed, if you don’t understand the problems facing this nation, you are that much more prone to falling prey to demagoguing solutions. And the problem with demagoguing solutions is they don’t work,” Johnson said. “I am concerned about people who don’t fully understand the very ugly math we are facing in this country.”
