Milan Fashion Week is dunzo, which means Paris Fashion Week has begun. Today Gareth Pugh presented his Spring/Summer 2013 collection at the Palais De Tokyo in the city of lights, and it was a dark, dramatic, futuristic affair. The color palette was limited to gray, black, white and red. And the clothes? Part Marilyn Manson, part Siouxsie and the Banshees, part Game of Thrones, and part Fifth Element. Strong, sharp shoulders, corseted busts, buttonless jackets for the Imperial March and blood-red robes that would make Emperor Palpatine jealous. Styled with facemasks to protect you from the elements on distant planets and large knitting-needle-like hair pins that could double as weapons, it’s a show that transports the mind and sparks the imagination.
