Political Erotic Slashfiction Contest is the Best Terrible Idea Ever

Latest

Erotic slashfiction is a complicated animal. If it were a superhuman comic book character, it would be chaotic neutral — capable of incredible good, and unimaginable evil. Unbound by society! On one hand, this erotic Thomas the Tank Engine romance; on the other, Fifty Shades of Grey. But there’s one way that slashfiction can go both wrong and right at the same time — sexy stories between political and historical figures. And that’s why political erotic slashfiction site Hail to the Slash is the best — and worst — thing in the world. Bless it.

Hail to the Slash isn’t so much a contest as it is a celebration of ridiculousness. As the site’s founder, blogger and comic strip connoisseur Josh Fruhlinger explains,

Among the things I love about my comics blog is that the people who post comments are generally funny, civil, and nice to each other, which distinguishes my blog from virtually every other site that exists on the Internet. However, in the days leading up to the 2008 U.S. presidential election, this civility broke down as a number of nasty political fights broke out. In attempt to stave off further unpleasantness, I demanded that my readers funnel their political passions into Taft/Roosevelt slash fiction, because it was the only thing I could think of off the top of my head. […]
And so I always had in mind that, come 2012, I would return to the idea. This site is that return. You may find it depraved or insulting to great American statesmen; I consider it the only rational response to American political absurdity.

So now you know where to go when you have a hankering to read about Jimmy Carter sodomizing Ronald Reagan, or William Jennings Bryan and Ron Paul locked in a passionate embrace. Don’t say I never gave you anything.
