Marchesa, for the Rich, South Asia-Obsessed Oscar-Winning Actress In You

Latest

Last night designers Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig staged the Spring 2013 Marchesa collection at Vanderbilt Hall in Grand Central station in New York City. The romance of travel and exploration was evident in the stunning clothes presented, described by the AP as “Indian inspiration – via the Beatles’ 1960s experience with the Maharishi.” What does that mean? Sumptuous jewel tones. Sari-like draping. Bare midriffs. Sheer, floaty, filmy, ethereal layers. Gold embroidery. Plenty of looks to choose from for the red carpet, come awards season.

Anna Wintour was there, naturally, as were Kelly Osbourne, Stacy Keibler, Michelle Trachtenberg, Tyra and Kimye. Click through to be enchanted and transported by divinely gorgeous gowns, fanciful frocks and some kind of sequiny kurta pyjama thing that sounds terrible but is super pretty for shmancy cocktails.
