James Franco Stands Around Looking Confused in the Trippy Trailer for Oz The Great and Powerful

Latest

L. Frank Baum wrote over a dozen books about Oz, including The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, which became a musical film starring Judy Garland. But Oz The Great and Powerful, directed by Sam Raimi and starring James Franco, is a horse of a different color. No Munchkins, no tin man, no Lullaby League. This trailer — which debuted at Comic Con yesterday — is kinda dark, CGI-heavy, and reveals nothing in terms of plot. All we know is that it’s a prequel of sorts, and there are witches – Theodora, Evanora and Glinda – played by Mila Kunis, Rachel Weisz and Michelle Williams, whose styling makes her look like the big sister of the Childlike Empress.
