Rape Crisis Center Funding is 'Pork,' Says Awful Governor Nikki Haley

Latest

Maybe possibly probably not Veepstakes contender and South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley vetoed a bunch of stuff this week, claiming all of it is “pork.” Among the pork she declared unkosher? Funding for the arts, and unnecessary shit that the taxpayers don’t need to pay for, like funding for victims of domestic violence and rape. Quit mooching, victims! Pay for your own damn rape-doctor, or whatever!

Haley slashed a half million dollars from the state’s rape crisis center, which exists to help victims of sexual assault navigate the legal system alongside trained advocates, so they don’t have to do it alone, according to WISTV. The center’s director expressed dismay that Haley seems to think that it’s doing “the taxpayer” a disservice to help women who have been raped.

“The taxpayer” is Tea Party code for “white dudes,” btw. If you’re a lady, you’re not a taxpayer. You’re a dishwasher!

Haley is sorry she’s not sorry about being such a dick. From WISTV,

“This is not the way we govern,” Haley said. “This is not the way tax payers intended their money to be spent.”
In a letter to explain the veto, Haley said the services only affect “a small portion of South Carolina’s chronically ill or abused”. Haley continued, saying the spending “distracts from the agency’s broader mission of protecting South Carolina’s public health.”

Well, if only a small portion of the chronically ill or abused will be shat on, I guess it’s okay. Carry on with the fuckery, Haley.
