A couple of weeks ago, Tyrese Gibson saw Amber Tamblyn's email address cc'd on the email of a mutual friend and, thinking she was Kanye West's ex-girlfriend Amber Rose, he contacted her about collaborating on some music. Tamblyn played along and wrote a series of "awareness raps." Upon learning that Tamblyn "took this shit public" Tyrese ultimately deemed her music "corny as fuck." So she moved on and actually recorded the songs with Dan the Automator from the Gorillaz and Handsome Boy Modeling School.
Respectfully, The Tyrese Sessions is available for download, with 100% of the proceeds going to "directly to The Respect Project, a brand new fund of the 501c3 nonprofit Write Now Poetry Society which will disburse grants to organizations who run creative writing workshops for women and girls and those working to end violence against women, such as The Safe Zone Foundation." Of the poster for the album (pictured left), Tamblyn says, "That's me at age 6 dressed up like a warrior. Or, what my current inner child looks like."
Respectfully, The Tyrese Sessions 2.0 [Amber Tamblyn]
