The Latest Smut List Is Very Popular On Facebook

Latest

names of 100 girls from Westchester and Connecticut have been posted to a Facebook “smut list.” (Just change the M to an L and you get the idea.) Which thousands of people have already “liked.”

News Channel 12 calls the list “controversial” — although we don’t really see wherein lies the controversy. They also say girls are on there “whether they want to be there or not” — some do? — and that parents “feel the list is inappropriate.” I get cautious reporting, but can’t we come out and call this unambiguously bad? The bigger question is whether it will qualify as cyber-bullying, and in any event, who will be held to account.

By the way, yes, the list is still up — but unless you want to lose several IQ points and a lot of faith in the younger generation, I wouldn’t advise seeking it out.
