Zombie Ants Discovered In Rain Forest

In the Brazilian rain forest, scientists have discovered four species of fungus that can infect an ant, take over its brain, and force the insect to move to a location where it can spread spores. National Geographic has a disturbing slide show of zombie bugs, and one scientist says, “This potentially means thousands of zombie fungi in tropical forests across the globe await discovery.” Basically, the movies accurately predicted the possibility of a zombie apocalypse, but instead of being infected by an invisible virus, we’re all going to have mushrooms growing out of our heads.
