He also cried. As he teared up on camera, he gave a quick shout-to his ex-wife. Anyone with a beating heart teared up too.

I was so excited about this match that I set my tivo to record it and planned to get up early. (Teacher. Summer vacation.) Well, last night I had crazy insomnia and had to take a hardcore sleeping pill that completely knocked me out. Woke up at 1pm. I considered closing my Twitter tab and avoiding Google Reader or even turning off my laptop altogether while I watched the match after it had already ended. Then I decided: screw it, ain't gonna happen, might as well be spoiled. And I'm kinda glad I found out the outcome before I started watching, because I don't think my heart could've taken all the tension as the clock ticked down!

That said, I also kinda wish I'd been around to experience the "OMG GOOOOOOOAL!!!!" in real time as the internet — well, the football-loving parts — exploded. Alas, I shall have to cheer over and over via YouTube.
